A four-time CHRO across Fortune 50, high-growth, and purpose-driven organisations, Dean has led transformative people, culture, purpose, finance, and legal functions in companies including Patagonia, Sears Holdings, Fossil Inc., Guild, and Modern.

His early career included leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Pier 1 Imports, and Pearle Vision, setting the foundation for a career defined by innovation, humanity, and measurable business impact. Dean’s work on purpose-driven organisations, regenerative approaches to work, and the future of HR has been featured in Harvard Business Review, The Economist, NBC, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., HRBrew, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal.


Dean has served as an independent director and committee chair for Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD) and currently sits on the board of Griffith Foods, a global sustainable food company. He advises a portfolio of leading WorkTech and AI organisations, including Guild, Gloat, Ezra, Amoofy, AirVet, and the Allen Institute for Brain Science.


A passionate community and arts advocate, Dean is also a board member of the world-renowned Music Academy in Montecito, California. He earned his degree from the University of Texas at Austin and serves as a Workforce Science Fellow at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law, where he co-founded a pioneering organisation advancing Human Capital Analytics.


Dean lives in California with his husband, Mark Stori, and is endlessly inspired by their daughter, Grace, who is building her own career in HR and carries forward his passion for transforming the world of work.
