Mark Levy, EX Advisor & Pioneer of Employee Experience at Airbnb

As the architect of Airbnb’s groundbreaking approach to Employee Experience—co-created with the company’s founders—Mark helped shape a culture so impactful it was named Glassdoor’s #1 Best Place to Work in 2016. His work now influences how organisations across the globe evolve their people functions to intentionally design the entire employee journey with their people, not for them.

Across his career, Mark has held senior HR and EX roles with iconic brands including Best Buy, Levi Strauss & Co., Gap Inc., and Thomson/Technicolor (where he lived and worked in Paris). Known for his ability to bring mission, values, connection, and community to life inside organisations, he now advises global companies—from high-growth startups to established multinationals—on internal/external brand integration, culture activation, social impact, and evolving the HR function into a strategic EX discipline.

Mark co-created the EX Manifesto with Samantha Gadd, helping lay the foundation for the field of EX Design. He also serves on the board of Abroad.io, supporting the integration of wisdom cultures into leadership, and advises Airbnb.org in reconnecting alumni with its mission.

Mark lives in California with his wife, Lindsay. He is the proud father of Evans, Eliza, and Sam, and is inspired daily by Kona, the family’s beloved 14-year-old chocolate lab.
